I just can’t get over the way his eyes have this almost shocked look to them when he looks over to her when she says that she’s not going anywhere. Because of what they just went through, Nine thinks that he’s blown it with Rose because he turned a gun on her. Even though he was terrified of the Dalek, even though in the heat of the moment he was scared for his life, in his eyes, he only thinks about how he turned a gun on Rose.
The fact that she’s still looking at him with such warmth, love and fondness makes him smile in relief, because without her I don’t think Nine would be able to cope with the crushing sadness of being alone in isolation. He needs her more than anything else. She is the sun, the moon, and the stars to him.
